INCOGNITO - PARISIENNE GIRL 7"- 1980 - ENSIGN The second feature on our Great Britain not Rubbish Britain segment is the Incognito track - Parisienne girl. This was their first ever release - I think, and it features on their first album Jazz Funk released the following year. One of the fore fathers of the whole acid jazz movement, Bluey and co are still doing their thing till this day and have more band members than I've had cold breakfasts - including Jocelyn Brown
(Read more and listen to track) Released by the label Ensign - who I will be writing about in the near future - the track is almost before it's time, the musical arrangement is nothing short of amazing, it sounds like something Jay Kay and Jamiroquai were doing in the mid 90's - clearly part of their inspiration.
