WAVELENGTH (DAM-FUNK) - FUNK DREAMS/LIFE TURNS (7") - GLYDEZONE RECORDINGS (09) This 7 has been out now for a while released by the man with the huge gust of wind in his sails - Dam Funk. The record is released under his alias Wavelength and unless you are familiar with his work or his actual name (Damon Riddick) you wont realise it is the work of the man himself - until you actually listen to it (listen to sound clip below) - which explains why the only a 1000 pressed haven't sold out yet.

JUNIE - BREAD ALONE - CBS 1980 - WALTER (JUNIE) MORRISON This is one of those albums that have slipped under the radar for a few people, seems to be the case with most Junie records. I personally didn't know at the time I found this record that the ex Ohio Player and Parlaimentarian had embarked on a solo career - Solid enough, I thought while listening to it, exactly what you’d expect that sleaze funk sound, lots of fuzz and groany almost whiney vocals, flip it over to the B side, look at the back of the sleeve and there’s a track whose title immediately gets my attention – Impatiently drop the needle on the third track and there's the faint sound of what sounds like a serious baseline which slowly builds with volume, eventually you get this full blast of power funk it’s a dirty, filthy track – the base line says sleaze all through - triple xxx and I loved every single second of its 7 and a half minutes. The other tracks are above average but it really is all about first class seaman (Jock rock) – I’ve never used the phrase desert island disc – maybe because I’ve never pictured my self on a desert island - but if I ever was on one this track is coming with me alongside a life supply of shredded wheat.

This Thursday is the Opening party/ Private View of BLESS-ED - SUPERIMPOSING THE THOUGHT OF HAPPINESS Robbie and Leanne are two people I look up to with the upmost respect. They prove us all wrong, all the time. They represent exactly what we should all be doing with our own lives. Don’t feel disrespected by this. It’s all love, all the time, always. I’ve known Robbie and Leanne for a long time now. I met them through Benji many moons ago. Original London Heads Know. They moved to Canada, to the lakes soon after Zion was born. Their wedding was incredible. But Robbie’s 5 year plan talks back in the Droop Street era really made an impression on me. Their art has always shone. Their art has always been theirs too. You are all invited to celebrate their work this Thursday evening. If you can’t make it down, then try to view their work over the next couple of weeks. Robbie and Leanne have always been heavily involved in music. Flyers, album covers, 12" sleeves, Prints, Silk Screens, T-shirts - Their Organic feel was organic before Waitrose tasted the difference. Check out their website here: http://www.wadadameanslove.com/ Blessed
